The Sony Ericsson Live is a Walkman series touchscreen phone for the music trend setters. The phone runs on an
Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, with a custom skin and interesting package of applications. The OS can also be upgradable to v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The phone also supports a 512 MB RAM. The Ericsson Live features a
3.2-inch HVGA touch display screen with 320 x 480 resolutions.
Apart from this, the phone supports a 1 GHz Qualcolmm Scrorpion processor and Adreno 205 GPU. This lets you have an amusing gaming experience in the handset. The Timescape UI in the Android phone brings in all the social applications in one place. You can get details about the conversation you ever had with your friend through the phone. This also lets you view Facebook mobile application and a Twitter application combined in a single view.
The Sony Ericsson sports a 5 megapixel camera with touch focus and LED flash light. This helps you capture and share your special moment with your friends. The 8x digital zoom lets you go closer to the subject. The phone also allows you to take pictures with 3D Sweep Panorama and View them on a 3D TV or on the multi-angle 3D display.
You can record HD videos at 30 fps and play them at 720 x 1280 pixels. Other camera features like Geo Tagging, face detection, auto focus, image stabilization, red-eye reduction and smile detection helps in getting better quality pictures. The handset also supports a 0.3 megapixel VGA front camera which helps in clicking self-portraits.
Design
With an attractive curved design, glossy finish and a mineral glass display, the phone has a
capacitive touchscreen as the display. Under the display, lie the menu, back and home option keys.
The right side of the Android phone features the volume rocker and the dedicated shutter key. The micro USB port is found at the left side of the Live. The top of the phone consists of a 3.5 mm headphone jack which is covered with a plastic lid. The dedicated Walkman button is and also the power key is located at the top. The microphone pinhole of the Live is found at the bottom. The phone supports sensors like accelerometer auto turn off and proximity sensor.
Battery and Storage
The Sony Ericsson Live is powered by 1200 mAh battery, which provides a
talk time up to 14 hours on 2G and 6 hours on 3G. When fully charged, the phone gives a standby time of up to 850 hours. The Live supports an inbuilt memory of 320 MB which can be
expanded up to 32 GB using microSD and microSDHC cards.
Connectivity and Features
The Ericsson Live allows you to access the Internet through GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wi-Fi platforms. Connectivity features like Bluetooth and USB port lets you share files with other devices. The
Wi-Fi Hotspot installed in the handset acts a modem, which allows you to access the Internet. The phone also supports DLNA, which allows you to connect devices to your network and communicate amongst them.
You can store your favourite music numbers in the handset and play them in the music player. The FM radioallows you to tune into your favourite channel and get the latest music and news updates. The Track ID recognition allows you to get details about the track played on the handset. The xLoud Loudness Enhancement Engine produces a better sound quality in the handset.
The SNS applications in the Live allow you to stay connected with your friends through Facebook and Twitter. An instant messaging facility in the phone allows you to communicate with your friends through Gtalk and Yahoo Messenger. YouTube applications in the Live keeps you updated with the latest video updates.
Embedded A-GPS in the touch phone helps you in finding the desired location while commuting long distances. The phone also allows you to download applications from the Android market. Other applications like Google calendar, Skype, Google search, wallpaper animation, handwriting recognition, predictive text input, sound recorder, MMS enabled, 3D games, gesture input, vibrating alert, push Email, document viewer and many more are available in the handset.
